The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment asked us to come up with something that would be very distinctive and different for their new CD label – something that would stand out from other classical CDs and tie in with the Orchestra’s values. Importantly, the artwork would need to work across a series – so that while each CD would look different, they should also be recognisably from the same stable.
Our solution was just about as far from traditional classical music packaging as it’s possible to get. We simply proposed to create an illustrated letter to denote the initial of the composer, M for Mozart and so on. The final result is an ever-expanding range of infinite visual possibilities.
